You all know I love to feed the hummingbirds and we have lots and lots of them eating at our feeders and bathing in the fountain.

So today I was refilling the feeder and dropped it in the sink.  Can you believe it, the plastic shattered!  They were buzzing around looking for the feeder so I hit the internet to figure out how to make my own.  I ended up running out for a plastic cup and am going to use that for now, but soon I am going to make a feeder out of a chicken waterer like the one in the video below.

    Check it out!

what a great idea, it hold so much more. Im always refilling our 2 feeders.

A word of warning, I have purchased 2 of those plastic waterers for my chickens and I had problems with the lid not making an airtight seal. I gave up and got a rubber bucket. Also, how do they keep the sugar mixture from fermenting. Those things hold 5 gallons of fluid. Judy

In the past, I have seen feeders made out of plastic litre bottles that look pretty clever.

There are also feeders at the pet store next to Soriana shaped like strawberries for about $60 pesos, but sort of cheesy.

I need to look into getting a hummingbird feeder. My new place has a garden filled with them.
