I love all the old houses in Centro.  Many of them have close relatives on the same street.  Some look like twins, or even triplets.

Some probably started life as  a much larger house, and now we notice the similarities, even though the paint may be a different color!

Some, like the buildings below, appear to have always been twins.

And it looks like another set of twins below:

The ones below appear to be siblings only.  Fraternal triplets at best.

I have it on good authority that the two houses below were once one.

Can you see a strong family resemblance in the buildings below?

I hope you have enjoyed a bit of Mazatlán genealogy!

    Christmas around here.

Paul and I are usually a bit indifferent to decorating for the season.  Two years ago we didn’t decorate the house and only at the last minute decided to buy each other gifts.  Last year we put up a few decorations we’d bought in Guadalajara the month before, but it was very minimal.

This year we bought a tree (yes, it’s artificial).  That has been joined by a huge star piñata, some icicle lights and a rope light around our big palm tree.  There are lights around our front door and a corn husk wreath.  Paul even noticed that the cut edge of our elephant ear where a leaf had been removed shows an angel!  Should we call National Enquirer?

I even knit a stocking for each of us, and I’m positive Santa knows our address here in Mazatlán.

We hope each and every one of you has a wonderful time enjoying the season with friends and family.  Hasta pronto!

You all know I love to feed the hummingbirds and we have lots and lots of them eating at our feeders and bathing in the fountain.

So today I was refilling the feeder and dropped it in the sink.  Can you believe it, the plastic shattered!  They were buzzing around looking for the feeder so I hit the internet to figure out how to make my own.  I ended up running out for a plastic cup and am going to use that for now, but soon I am going to make a feeder out of a chicken waterer like the one in the video below.

    Check it out!
