Our sala fresca project is over and we are really happy with how it turned out. I will do a post about it in a day or two… It’s funny, after every house project we have said to each other “that’s enough!” But it must be something like childbirth – you forget about the pain when the next child or project comes along.
With the project done we took down the tarps, vacuumed and mopped and painted this and that. The windows are open all day long and we are back to having the wonderful breezes whipping through the house, keeping us a bit more comfortable.
In another week all of the National tourists will leave town and the city will hit the summer doldrums. Many restaurants will close and the beaches will be empty. From then until the end of October, the city belongs just to us, the year round residents of Mazatlán.
And speaking of year round residents, we are a month away from our second anniversary of moving here. It has been a wonderful two years, and I want to thank all of you who have been sharing the experience with us. We appreciate your comments and friendship.
The picture above was taken a week ago. We met friends at the Freeman for a drink at sunset, and unfortunately it was cloudy and threatening to rain. We didn’t expect any kind of sunset at all, and there was none – until almost the last minute, when the color hit and we shared a glorious farewell to the day.
