Thank you, you mean! I never would have even thought about growing my own, so thank you!

Now, if I could just figure out how to get a sock around my wine glass....

Thank you, Nancy! I'm so glad that those tips worked out for you. I loved the photo of the fresh ginger. You can just tell from the photo how much more tender it is than the dried out stuff at the stores.

Norm, She has since posted, and is fine, but I had been worried, too.

Theresa, Isn't it fun to have nice fresh ginger all the time? Is yours in the ground or in a pot?

Alice, I will have to try this...I am not a milk drinker but I have some chai tea that I could shave the ginger into....hmmm. maybe right now!

Just had my Indian in-laws here this weekend, and they are ga-ga for chai. Finely shave some ginger into a boiling pot of black tea and milk, and voila, almost instant masala chai.

I'm a little worried about La Gringa, she has a political post up on her site that is true to her style. No posts to her Yahoo people-I hope she went on vacation or something.

I just bought mine at the grocery store. Just look for the nice plump pieces if they have them. La gringa gives great instructions on her blog.

I thought of you and La Gringa yesterday as the condensation from my glass was dripping down my shirt. Where do you find the ginger for your pots? It sounds like a great idea. Perhaps I can grow it here in the sea breeze. Almost everything burns to death with the salt.
