Well, maybe not so little in our case!
We replaced a perfectly good refrigerator last week. It wasn’t a whim or a luxurious choice. We didn’t even replace the fridge with one that was larger or had more bells and whistles.
Why, then? Well, take a look at the picture of the refrigerator in our kitchen, below.
See anything a little awkward? Imagine opening the right side, the refrigerator side. Where does the door go? The handle bumps against the cabinets on the right, of course. The opening for the fridge is 36″. The fridge itself is 36″. So when you open the door, you can barely reach in, and opening the drawers or doing much more then squeezing things in is impossible. To clean it we had to pull it out of its spot and angle it! We’ve been doing this for almost two years, too.
The picture below is our new fridge. 29″ wide. It can be shifted mostly left in the opening so that the door can open completely. You have no idea how wonderful it is to be able to actually use the whole refrigerator. It is great.
Another good thing is that our old fridge is being donated to Casa Nika Bazaar, the charity store that helps fund Mazatlán’s Humane Society, Amigos de los Animales. And they are even picking it up!
