Semana Santa must be a lucky time for us – out of the blue we have visitors over the next couple of weeks.  Last year we had a houseful of my boys and their families just before Semana Santa, and then Paul’s daughter came for a week during the festivities.

At the end of the week our son, daughter in law, and granddaughter will come for a visit from Mexico City.  We had been trying to figure out a time to get together but Adam has been traveling a lot and Martha has been busy too.  Little Consuelo is three months old and I’ve only seen her once!   So we finally figured we had better just make plans or it will be May before we could get together.

Martha’s been busy, not just with the baby but with the non-profit that she and her partner started.  They both have a background in fashion and have created the non-profit to work to preserve the indigenous textile tradition by positioning  textiles as unique and luxurious items of design.  They are making great progress, and just this week were profiled with a two page spread in Elle Mexico. (link will download a 4 mb pdf file)  So we have a lot to share and catch up on, with both her and Adam’s  interesting jobs and wonderful Consuelo, too.

On Sunday (and overlapping with Adam and Martha) my sister comes for a visit.  I saw her for several days last summer when I went North, but she will be here for 9 days!  I am so happy.  It’s just such a nice length visit…long enough to remember all the obscure things you want to talk about, long enough to go places that wouldn’t be possible with a shorter visit, and time to get a bit of a tan.  I will consider myself a failure if she goes home without feeling relaxed all the way to her toes.

Actually, that goes for all of them.  We are going to have a great time being just another Mexican family at the beach!

Oh, and a couple days after my sister leaves we head to Mérida for the blogger get-together.  What a nice April for us!
