    Not too much, really.

Except that the backyard remodel project is mostly complete…all the construction, anyway.  We still need to have the back wall repainted and grass and gravel installed and a flowerbed created…  I can’t guess how long all that will take, but both Paul and I absolutely love the space already.  It is my favorite place to sit and knit, and we love to have our coffee out there.  The dogs love to sit in the sun.

The rest of what we have been up to lately is more of the usual here.  Walks with the dogs, watching fireworks, dinners out with friends, Spanish classes, etc. Yesterday we went to a charity breakfast for a group that organizes distributing chickens and a dispensa to the poor on Christmas eve morning.  We are going to participate this year, as groups of people fan out into the countryside to distribute food and gifts.  Everyone we know who participated last year really felt rewarded by the experience, so we are looking forward to that.

The weather here has been wonderful.  You can actually sit outside in the sun without roasting, but we haven’t really wanted to wear long pants yet.

I created a Calendar page for the blog. (see the top of each page)  I’ve been putting activities that are listed in the paper on it…if anyone has a suggestion for a calendar listing, please contact us and I’ll put it on the calendar.

The Christmas season is upon us.  Last night was the tree lighting in the Plazuela Republica…a Coca Cola tree.  What the heck is it with civic trees being Coca Cola trees, anyway? They had one in Guadalajara, too!

Today is Un Día Para Ayudar…held in the Plaza Zaragoza.  The various charity groups have joined together and will be serving food, selling handcrafts, and accepting donations.  We’ll be going today.  We went last year and had a lot of fun people watching and eating.  Our picture even appeared in the paper afterwards!

    Life is good.
